The Photographer Photo was taken at the Grand Banks off of Nova Scotia, Les Nagy a local fisherman and trained photographer took one photo of the “Andrea Gail”. It is one of the only known photo taken at sea of the now famous long line swordfish boat depicted in the book/movie the Perfect Storm. The “Andrea Gail” crew and ship were lost in a great Halloween Northeaster 1992. Les shot this photo in August 1988 as the boat he was working on lent some fishing gear to the crew of the “Andrea Gail”. Over the years working in the commercial fishing industry, Les has thousands of shots up and down the East Coast, Along with shots from Newfoundland, Puerto Rico, Panama and Ecuador. He now is working locally as a hard clammer, staying close to shore. |
